Enjoying a moment before we go to work!

A walk through our olive grove, fields and forest. It works wonders!

And so...

...I often take a short or less short walk in the morning before going to work.

The previous days I spent many hours in the heating room. Something went wrong and when I finally found why (a silly loose wire) one of the 2 pumps of the pellet boiler failed...

Oh well, I have nothing else (...) to do anyway, so I'll just do it myself again. No sooner said than done and the new pump quickly gave much better results in terms of hot water and heating.

We only replaced the boiler quite recently in 2018. However, three years later the old all-burner was still waiting to be picked up by my friend and contractor Maurizio, Maurì for the friends. Due to some setbacks, his workshop burned down and a cow broke its thigh and knee (no joke), that collection was always postponed..

Now that I wanted to get the entire heating room in order, and I was busy at the moment, I called him and insisted that he come by with his tractor to load the enormously heavy thing. I called in some help and we went to work moving it towards the exit. A cord around the base connected to his tractor, we got it out little by little, but not without crushing my hand, but don't worry, it's almost completely healed again.

There were still some decommissioned pipes and wiring connected to "that thing" that I disconnected before we moved it. It was only when Maurì had left a long time ago and I was cleaning with the sturdy brush that I saw that the "computer" indicated that something was not working... A probe gave an "error"... Shit...

I soon realized what was wrong because I had also disconnected a probe from the old all-burner, logically assuming that it had done nothing all these years. My logic turned out to be correct, but that probe was still operational in the new setup, a mistake by the installers of the new pellet burner.

Fortunately, I could count on Tonino's remote collaboration, Tonino for the friends. A technician from Consolar, the makers of the computer that controls the entire system.

So it turned out that the whole thing had not been functioning optimally all those years. There was no other way because that probe did nothing other than measure air temperature while it was actually supposed to check one of the "puffers". It is a miracle that we had hot water and heating all those years, but with too high consumption, while that consumption was still drastically lower than with the previous gas system.

Everything was sorted out thanks to Tonino's, Tonino for the friends, incredible availability (he must have cursed me after about 30 messages back and forth) and after three days of testing and checking we know that it all works perfectly now, much more efficiently and even more economical.

Let the winter come! Ah, winter is already here... Icy winds, ah yes, something else, have been blowing strongly through the valley and the mountains for a few days now. Last night we were literally blown awake a few times by gusts that we had rarely seen in all those years.

Ah well, it's the weekend, I'm waiting for the wind to die down and I'm going to continue cleaning out my garage!

Keep smiling
Pax et Bonum
